I've been on number 2 (peak to peak--whistler) All i can say is wow--what a long ride (like 20minutes one way!!)

Number 4 is the snowflake lift a breckenridge--been on that one!
Number 5 is the t-bar at Breckenridge (built to survive the "brecken-wind)--what a long ride for a t-bar!

Some of those other ones are nuts!!!

The first one is overkill!! Why so many wheels? Why such a big station? Its not even a 6 passenger chair--its just a triple chair!!! I love it though!! :)

Agreed - towards the end of a long day that t-bar ride is brutal! Worst fear was slipping out of the t-bar and being "that guy" who has to ski down the t-bar line...

The first one looks very much like the first gondola at Killington. It has the same erector set towers, the same huge multiple wheels turning the main drive cable, the same overhead track while disconnected, and the same catapult launching the chair onto the main cable. Listen closely, the clunk and whoosh every few seconds is the catapult.

And my own personal entry. Look closely... yep, that's a.... urban chairlift???

#1 has to be engineered by the German's. They're great at taking something simple, and making it complex. I bet it's a bear to fix. But the ride is probably like no other.
