Yawgoo claims 245 ft. Given the location (just a few miles from the coast) and elevation (base can't be more than 50-75 ft above sea level) they do a really good job. It's pretty amazing how well they can keep the conditions given the weather patterns they are exposed to. It is basically a little feeder area that gives folks living nearby an opportunity to learn skiing or boarding. And it gives local kids a place to ski and ride who probably wouldn't get much opportunity if Yawgoo wasn't here. And it gives folks like me a place to go make a few turns without driving 1.5 hours or so to Wachusett. It's amazingly busy during the early evening. Would I drive hours to ski mighty Yawgoo? No, but the nice thing is I don't have to. And there's simply no arguing that it's the best ski area in little RI.
