I don't mean to make fun of Yawgoo or anyone who likes it, but I can't imagine just 200 + feet of vert.

Yawgoo claims 245 ft. Given the location (just a few miles from the coast) and elevation (base can't be more than 50-75 ft above sea level) they do a really good job. It's pretty amazing how well they can keep the conditions given the weather patterns they are exposed to. It is basically a little feeder area that gives folks living nearby an opportunity to learn skiing or boarding. And it gives local kids a place to ski and ride who probably wouldn't get much opportunity if Yawgoo wasn't here. And it gives folks like me a place to go make a few turns without driving 1.5 hours or so to Wachusett. It's amazingly busy during the early evening. Would I drive hours to ski mighty Yawgoo? No, but the nice thing is I don't have to. And there's simply no arguing that it's the best ski area in little RI.

I personally vote for ST: TNG for #1 space based TV show. I also liked Stargate SG1 even though it didn't really go into space until the final few seasons.

I like it as well but the Friday time slot was hard for me since I don't like to spend my Friday evenings watching TV. I'd rather be out doing something else. Is it still on Fridays?

yeah, really. Top five in the east????
so far, I think I've seen all kinds "top this and that" discussed ad nauseam on this board.
There even was a thread about best or worst lifts, or something in that flavour.

screw TV man, netflix older seasons! i think TNG definitely was the best spaced based TV show. some of the stuff got old, but in the end it was a character, philosophy, and morality driven show and had good writers that were excellent at creating situational dilemmas. TOS was good, but i think TNG did it much better. i never got into SG1. my parents are huge fans of farscape, that never did it for me. i like the battlestar story line in that every episode connects, there is no random episodes that do not further the entire series story line, but since it turned into a series, it causes certain episodes to drag the overall plot down due to the need for a full series of episodes. i like the new take on the space series with the shaky cameras and sudden quick zoom stuff, it is different without being obnoxious. the exec producer used to write for TNG so i guess it makes sense i like both of them. though the sex bot cylon is annoying!

i guess what i am trying to say (in not so many words ) is that sci fi space TV shows are a lot like ski areas, some are better than others at specific things, and i really can't give an over all top five.
