As buff as you may want your lips and landings to be, the reality for most folks is that unless you live in Aptos or Jordie's backyard, your dirt jumps are going to be a little moreshall we say bedraggled. It's amazing how quickly the precious dirt gets washed away with the rains, leaving jumps and landers sprinkled with stones. These Giro DJ Gloves will keep your hands protected in the event of a missed barspin or slipped front tire deep in the berm.
The DJ Glove is a no frills affair. It doesn't have any knuckle protection or armor of any sort. What it does have is a simplistic design, built to suit the needs of the park rider or trail rider who is looking for a lightweight and simple full-fingered mountain bike glove. The upper is made of 4-way stretchy mesh and has a soft microfiber snot wiper pad that extends from the wrist to the first thumb knuckle. All of the materials used are soft, and the velcro closure is tucked down inside the wrist. They're perfect for wiping the sweat off of your brow after a hard day's work learning tuck no-handers.
The Super Fit three panel palm is designed to eliminate bunching, and it's doubled up at the top of the palm where we typically wear out lesser gloves. There is a sewn in 3mm EVA pad on the outside of the palm. It doesn't interfere with your grip when riding, but we sure appreciate it when we toss the bike mid-air and come down hard on our hands and knees. The Giro DJ Glove comes in small, medium, large, and XL and is available in three colors -- Black/Charcoal, White/Lime Green, and White/Charcoal.
