Oakley Split Jacket Sunglasses

INBKIRVR.jpg

If you've been following Oakley products over the years, you know these sunglasses. The name is Split Jacket and they come with Iridium lenses. The Split Jacket is a smaller, more rounded version of the Jawbone. While the aesthetics are pure Oakley, the size and shape make for a less aggressive look that fits well on smaller faces and is subtle enough for casual wear.
Much like the Jawbone, the Split Jacket's calling card is the Switchlock frame that helps provide unbelievable optical clarity. The clarity is the result of Oakley's HDO optics as well as the Switchlock system that allows the Split Jacket frame to capture the lenses without flexing them. The lenses aren't snapped into place so much as they're contained in a soft liner within the frame. This system allows the frame to flex a bit without bending the lenses and distorting your view.
The frame is the usual light, sturdy, flexible O-Matter. The nosepieces and ear socks are the usual Unobtanium rubber. This stuff gets stickier the more you sweat. And if it ever wears out, the Unobtanium pieces can be replaced. And since Oakley is all about protection, the Split Jackets come with a vault, a cleaning cloth/bag, and a set of spare lenses. The vault is designed to carry the glasses, the cloth, and two sets of spare lenses securely. The cloth works for cleaning and for storage, and there are tiny pockets inside for the spare lenses.
The Oakley Split Jacket Iridium is available in Infrared, Matte Black, and Polished White. The Infrared comes with VR28 Black Iridium and VR50 lenses. VR is an acronym for Violet Rust and allows 28% of visible light to pass through the lens. VR50 allows 50% of visible light to pass through. The Matte Black comes with Black Iridium and G40 Lenses. Black Iridium is a great sunny day lens with a grey base, and G40 is a moderate day lens that blocks lots of green from coming through the lens, allowing 40% light transmission. The Polished White comes with Ice Iridium and Light Grey lenses. Ice Iridium is similar to Black Iridium, just with a blue mirror coating. Light Grey is best for cloudy days and flat light. The grey is a neutral base so colors appear true.
