So with the attention to SAC, and the comments in this thread, I ask, what has been the best deal this season for you? Skis? Boots? Boards? Other stuff?

For me, I needed some good ski gloves. So I took the advice of the folks in here and went to the most unlikely place: TJ Maxx.

Pushing my way through the junk and old women looking for bargains, I found a table full of helmets and goggles, and a rack full of namebrand gloves and mitts. One could score Gore Tex tech gloves for $15. I picked up a nice pair of Kombi Gloves, complete with straps and waterproofing, for a whooping $9.95. Best deal yet, but I have not really been in the market for anything this season.

Well I'm pretty sure it was Devo who got some Lange Comp 120's for a song.

I think SAC has kind of taken some of the romance out of deal hunting... a SAC deal is now percieved as just a good deal, not a steal.

May be small stuff, but got a pair of Grandoe Goretex/Primaloft gloves for $25 and a pair of Rossi carbon/fiber poles for $25 as well. This was at Zimmerman's Clearance Center in Amherst, NH and he gave me a little off the total just for the hell of it.

If I had bought comparable gloves anywhere else it would have cost more than these two items combined...

Ummm yeah, I paid $26.22 (after tax of course) for a pair of Lange Comp 120 FR's that were maybe used once (retail on those were around $750)...

Buuuuut..... I wouldn't say those were my best deal this season.........

I would have to say the '06/'07 Rossignol Scratch BC WRS that I got for FREEEEE from the TGR Anomaly show was just a little better deal!

Let's see, how about some of the other "deals" I have found this year so far:

Practically brand new Elan jr skis/bindings size 113cm for $5.00
New Salomon jacket (retail $300) for $80.00
New Salomon S912 bindings (retail $300) for $146.00 (not a great deal, but not too bad either)
New North Face Freedoom Pants for $17.00 (not sure these count because I had a $100 gift card from REI, and they were on sale....but I still only paid $17.00 out of pocket so...)
Used Elan Mo2 twin tips for $25.50
Dakine Helipro pack $30.00 (from SAC)
Spy Blizzard goggles for $28.00 (also from SAC)

not too shabby....

...a couple of good deals...

1) New liner!....expected a Speedmachine10 liner from Nordica....however the guys at the local shop are more in the know and ordered the SM14 (top of the line) liner for me instead. Just a super comfortable, yet dense liner.
2) Last week in August(@JoeJones across from Okemo entrance)...store cleansing sale...grabbed some Marmot Ultimate gloves for $80+....and shell for just over $100. Both have worked out fine so far....now if Cloudveil would only vary their skipant lengths!!.

My best deal of the year, which I don't think I"ll manage to beat: a pair of Volkl Supersport T50 5-stars from a few (or so) years ago, free, since my dad isn't using them anymore.
