Tipping the scales around 189 grams, the Fi'zi:k Arione CX Carbon Saddle isn't Fi'zi:k's lightest high-end road offering. However, you'll be hard-pressed to find another saddle that offers more comfort-per-gram from anyone else.
When choosing a saddle, it's important for you to consider its shape, the amount and location of flex, and cushioning. Because of its flat profile and forgiving Twin Flex shell, Fi'zi:k suggests the Arione CX for those that are flexible enough to keep consistent pressure on the sit-bones rather than the genital area. Fi'zi:k classifies these riders as 'snakes,' but we consider them as the perfect fit for the Arione CX platform. Note that if you aren't particularly flexible in the trunk area, Fi'zi:k recommends either the Antares or Aliante saddles.
The Arione is Fi'zi:k's longest and narrowest road saddle. And while it's certainly sleek, it also presents a suitably wide base for most riders. Its Wing Flex technology allows it to flex at the sides in order to prevent discomfort and power loss as your legs are firing and directing energy to the pedals. The Twin Flex shell also increases comfort by combining various densities of carbon fiber to soften the saddle in sensitive, soft tissue-contacting areas.
