    Surf Forums?

I'm planning a trip to Portugal for the summer and am looking fo beaches suitable for low key, beginner level surfing with a surf shop near by for rentals. Does anyone on this board have suggestions or know of a site where I might find advice?

Wtf is that? A pay site^? Gtf outa hea! Euler, try NYNJ surf forum. Probably not the best place for information on Portugal though. Have you tried MagicSeaweed.com? They will most likely have answers to your questions. I think the site originates from the UK and has a lot of information on European beaches

    Try this forum:
    http://www.nesurf.com/

A lot of hard core and very surf knowledgeable people on that forum. They even have a surf travel section.

Been a while since I posted.

TGR actually has a pretty good surf forum. I sometimes hang around there. Lots of good info, tips and photos. I also recommend magicseaweed.com

    +1 on nesurf.
For a small site they have amazing content.

In addition to good trip reports and conditions updates, they have some content that takes it up a notch. My friend Eugenio writes for them. He is an accomplished surfer, novelist, literature professor, world traveler, and mental case. He brings a level of artistic writing that is almost never found on a sports-related website. If you surf and like to read something different try some of these pieces:

They also have a nice piece from last year about another friend of mine. In a world of GoPro and 30 second attention spans, my friend Steve is the real deal.

Thanks for the replies everyone. We've booked a week at Praia Luz in the Algarve region. Looks like there are lots of beginner waves around there for me to continue to kook on. Should be awesome!
