My first trip out to BC was quite memorable. Skied the first 2 days at whitewater. they hadnt had any snow in 2 weeks so the conditions were challenging. anything in the sun was unskiable crusty crud. Shaded areas had hardpack that was chalky, so it was difficult but doable. That being said the mountain is great with steeps and great trees.
Plan was to go cat skiing in Ymir the next 3 days. Given the snow situation the operator offered to cancel the whole thing. we decided to in fact cancel the first day and then give it a go thereafter. We lucked out and got about 6" the first day another 4-6" the next and bluebird the final day. Best 3 days of skiing in my life. great terrain, awesome snow.
