11 days before I head to Colorado and my back starts to hurt for no reason. First ride up the lift today and I go to get off and my back hurts. All day it bothered me but I made it through the day. After the first 5 turns of so off the lift it would loosen up but I sill favored it. ARRGGHHH!!!

First, get a good soaking in HOT water in the tub.

Stretch often and cautiously. No need to over-do it.

Ibuprofen might help too, to get the information down.

11 days is still a long time away. Plenty of time for it to get better on its own.

Get a doctor's appointment in the book, in case it doesn't get better and you need a backup plan.

Physical therapist would be my suggestion. "Back injury" is really ambiguous, so I have no idea at all what's wrong with you. I had a spine injury (l1s1), and doctors and drugs were useless, but physical therapy fixed me up.
The one I saw was cheap enough that I didn't even bother with insurance, it was like $50 a visit or something like that.

my legs were hurting on the 3rd day in a row of skiing, I took 2 pre-emptive aleve's in the morning an hour before I hit the slopes and that did the trick.

Get some of those Icy Hot back patches and wear one when you ski. It'll help keep the muscles warm on the lift and keep things from tightening up. I used to stick toe warmers to the back of my shirt on the drive home (before I had heated seats) to keep my back muscles from getting tight.

That sounds like a good idea. The cold to my back I think had something to do with because before I got on the chairlift everything was fine until I got off the chairlift.

get a foam roller, it really works! At least it did for me.
I've had lower back problems for the last 30+ years. I used to go to a physical therapist ever month for deep tissue massage. But now I no longer have to go, I just use the foam roller every other day. It's even better than that once a month massage.

this is the one I've got

Your back needs to get well STAT!

It's been an amazing season so far, a lot of ski areas have more snow so far this year than they did last year total. Maybe you should get that cortisone shot

How old and shapes is your mattresse and box spring. I had an old 30 year bed in and my back was always acting up. I got a new bad several years ago no more pain from bad anyway.

Narcotics;) Seriously, bad backs suck, I landed on my head attempting a flip onto a mat from a springboard in 4th grade, lucky I can still walk. I had lower back problems throughout my school years as a result. It's been pretty good lately, knocks on wood. Sometimes it gets so stiff I have trouble putting on, and tying, my shoes. Or is that my fat gut not wanting to bend anymore? Good luck. A heating pad is great for anything achy. A sock filled with uncooked rice microwaved for a couple minutes works great too.

Actually sitting at work with the heat pad on right now and it feels better than yesterday when I didn't have it.
