Notice how Shummy does not outright deny wrongdoing.

VTDigger has documented how Shumlin and Company KNEW that it was a fraud but made the decision to allow the projects to get done. It was strategic--completed Hotels at Burke and Jay are worth more than uncompleted projects left to rot.

In some weird way, he’s not wrong. Well I should say I guess I see the logic.

Assuming they sniffed out a fraud sometime after the stuff started getting built, it is inherently better to see that project completed rather than completely destroy the only economic engines of the NEK.

I do think people often forget EB5 was effectively a VISA buying program. The investment was permanent US residency.

That would be great, but I'll be at the Grateful Campout in Maine that weekend. Can't beat a weekend of camping and music for $100.

Got the boss to agree to a waterpark weekend next week.

Haven't been to jay in some number of years. Decent place to eat Saturday afternoon? Kids will be with us. They eat normal kid stuff: pizza or chicken; wife eats salad. Decent draft beer is a requirement.

Looks like your friends were right after all…

i always told them i'd go to thursday if it were free but i am skiing on the weekend. that's exactly whats going down.

these losers cant sell tickets. even if the show is crowded, the tdb crowd doesn't buy tix til day of (and why would they - tdb tix are almost always available under face value as the show approaches). i honestly think nyc venues/promotoers have blackballed them because their shows aren't profitable. they haven't played in NYC since 2019, just the cap and the wellmont in the burbs.

they gave a friend like 50 tickets to just distribute as he sees fit. LOSERS

The disco biscuits ineptitude as businessmen has always intruiged me. Its amazing that they still do it, TBH.

its insane the number of horrible decisions and misfortunes they have experienced. its the recurring reason why they never broke thru and graduated into larger venues. most notably was jon punching a paper towel dispenser and breaking his wrist in 2010 on the eve of a ~50 show tour and a mainstage set at Ultra Miami

but we also have jon falling thru a vent and breaking his leg, sammy walking thru a plate glass window, allen inhaling some sort of construction dust causing him to miss the entire new years run one year, marc being kicked out of the band for 6 months in 2000. it goes on and on and on.
