Had to check the date of the article , thought this was an old April fools joke.
It might be insensitive but I can't stop laughing.
I imagine he'll be suing the joint manufacturer?

I know it's called "Hike Safe" but assume it applies to BC sking aswell

And to be fair, I don't think that the "Hike Safe" card was available when that guy got hurt. From what I have seen it appears he is challenging the decision that he was "negligent" and thus was billed for his rescue.

Yes, it would apply to any backcountry rescue I believe.

If the allegation is true about him dislocating his hip several times - then when the article says this, "If the court rules against Bacon, he says he plans to never hike in New Hampshire again." I say thank you and good bye dumb a$$!

First person with a hike safe card needing rescue.

    From my town as well.

I like the story about the first ever SPOT rescue. And how 3 weeks later, the same man had to rescued from the same place. Authorities were less pleased the second time.

I don't have a good link, but this has the text of the article.

If you have a NH fishing license or hunting license, you're covered. Don't buy the Hike Safe Card.
