The Pearl Izumi Elite LTD Bib Shorts incorporate proven material technology, construction methods, and an aerodynamic fit to provide you with one of Pearl's most advanced bib designs to date. The Elite LTD Bib Shorts were built with each of these characteristics in mind, delivering a race-proven design that provides maximum comfort and support.
Pearl Izumi constructed the bulk of its Elite LTD bib shorts using a compressive nylon/spandex blend. This lightweight fabric provides exceptional breathability and rapidly transfers moisture to its quick-drying outer surface. Additionally, this smooth material provides a moderately compressive hold, which supports your muscles and protects them from the fatigue-inducing effects of road vibration. For the bibs' upper portion, lightweight mesh material was used for its smooth wrap, ventilation, and ability to wick moisture incredibly well. Blending these two fabrics for the bulk of the shorts paneling material means you stay supported, dry, and comfortable throughout your longest rides.
The multi-panel design of the bib shorts gives you an anatomic fit, with structured leg openings that wrap and support your muscles. The inseam measures nine inches (size Medium), and the cuffs are treated with a compressive, gripper-free system, which keeps the panels in place and provides extra hold for knee/leg warmers. Wide bib straps flow up from the top panels, smoothly tapering slightly at the shoulders.
For long distance comfort, Pearl Izumi added its anatomically-shaped, three-layer 3D Elite chamois. This insert's density varies from a maximum of 13mm to a minimum of seven in order to relieve pressure and permit bloodflow where it matters most. The pad is covered with a moisture wicking, four-way stretch fabric that adjusts to your body as you pedal. Additionally, it contains active carbon yarns that assist with thermo-regulation.
