Mavic Pro Road Shoe - Men's

BLA.jpg

When you want the fit of a high-end road cycling shoe but don't want to dent your wallet, look to the Mavic Pro Road Shoe as the answer to your piggy bank's prayers.
Mavic designs a complete line of road shoes, with their lightest, and the lightest shoe in the world, being the Huez. To this end, each shoe in its line benefits from their technological and fit advancements. The Pro Road Shoes are no exception. They are built upon the Energy Full Carbon Outsole. This stiff outsole helps to maximize power transfer between from your legs to the pedals. The stiff sole is supportive and the thin construction means you'll have a better 'feel' beneath your feet. Additionally, they also feature the Energy Lock heel counter. This is a three-dimensional heel counter that molds to lock the heel in place. Keeping your heel from slipping provides more efficient pedaling. The insole is a pre-shaped double-density composite sole that supports both your metatarsals and your arch to reduce foot fatigue after hours in the saddle.
While your footbed needs to be comfortable for long rides, Mavic knows that pressure on the top of your foot leads to numbness. The ClimaVent tongue with ergo insert is used in the Pro Road shoes, This ergonomic and padded tongue reduces pressure and hotspots on your foot. Working in conjunction with the tongue are Ergo straps which feature hook and loop closures to keep the shoe snug against your foot. The Ergo Lite Ratchet is used nearest to the ankle. This closure features precise adjustment for a customized fit. It also ensures that your shoes will stay on regardless of how much power you put to the pedals.
Finally, the uppers of the Pro Road shoes were constructed with highly breathable mesh to ensure that moisture wicks away from your feet, keeping them dry. Although not as light as the Huez, the Pro Peloton still weigh a respectable 300 grams per shoe for a men's 8.5.
The Mavic Pro Shoes are available in White/black and Black/black and come in half and whole sizes from 7.0 to 12.5 mens. They come with 'recommended length' screws for the threaded inserts in the outsole; the sole is so thin, they've provided shorter screws.
