Conditions: Man made

Trip Report: Another day and night session at Gunstock. More of the same as Xwhaler posted (sorry I missed ya!) although I hit the G at night and then this morning before heading back to the flat lands. Skied Trigger and Gunsmoke the most, they finally opened up some more terrain under the Tiger chair - Red Hat and Tiger. With the piss poor weather of late, they have certainly been doing well in keeping trails open and blowing snow. They have been blowing all over the mountain and hopefully with the storm on Sunday will get even more snow. One of the nice things about Gunstock is that it is close to our second house and of course the mug club. Here are some photos from the last couple of days. I do hope they get more of the hill open soon! Photos:

Nice report and pics. How busy was it in the lodge and on slopes last night? I was surprised the parking lot was still jammed when we rolled out abt 2:30 yesterday. Not many ppl skiing then but lodge, particularly Powder Keg was hoppin. Seems they really try and pack a lot in to their family new yrs eve event

X- Thanks... If you go to Gunstock knowing what you're getting (mid range mountain with not much challenging terrain), it's a lot of fun. As for how jammed the place was, it was packed by 10pm when I got there there was a light crowd on the hill, but more people in the lodge. The Powder Keg was slammed with a ton of people too for NYE. I stuck around to 11:30, and felt guilty since my wife and son were back at the house sleeping so I went home. Ended up watching the ball drop on tv instead of the fireworks and torchlight parade.

For sure. Gunstock is essentially a larger version of Crotched w/ fewer trees but a better 'advanced' pod w/ the Tiger triple.
Too many trail intersections which disrupts flow and creates bottlenecks but they do a nice job with snowmaking and grooming. I visit 1-2 times every yr on some type of cheap voucher or night skiing.

Same here! Generally ski on a 2 fer and then hit up a few Tuesday nights (2 fer night). We have been there for New Years Eve and they do a decent job with music, events, swag and of course fireworks. Our whole family went about 4 years ago and almost did it again this year before opting for other plans!
