Trails(s) Hiked: Gorge Brook, Carriage Road, Snapper
Total Distance: 7.2
Difficulty: Moderate
Conditions: Snowy
Special Required Equipment: None
Trip Report: Standard Moosilauke loop, not as many cars at the Ravine Lodge as I'd expected for a Memorial Day weekend. It was 39 degrees at the trailhead when we started, a little colder than I'd expected but we had enough gear. We started getting some light snowfall at the view over Jobildunc Ravine, the trees were frosted above that. I put on my extra gear just before coming out at treeline. The summit was fine, winds probably around 30 MPH with gusts slightly higher. After 10 minutes up there we headed down Carriage Road and stopped at the Glencliff junction for lunch. Trip down was uneventful, didn't see a soul on the way down.
Made the loop in around 5 hours. If the weather was warmer we probably would have spent more time at the top. I've done this loop nearly 100 times, it doesn't get old.
