Castelli Velocissimo GT Bib Short - Men's
The Castelli Velocissimo GT Bib Short was constructed of 210 gram Affinity Lycra. This fabric is lightweight and helps to wick moisture away from your skin. Additionally, it features a 4-way stretch so that they retain their shape and fit you properly ride after ride. The shorts have been constructed using ten panels, and while more is not always better, in this case, the additional panels shape the shorts so that they move with you while you are in riding position. You'll notice the curved panels the moment you don them. Attached to the Lycra shorts are mesh bibs. This soft mesh features wide set straps so that they don't feel binding or tight. The back panel of the shorts is slightly higher so that you'll be covered when bent over in the drops.
While the ten panels and Affinity Lycra construction provide a comfortable fit, Castelli is known for its chamois, and more importantly, for designing its cycling shorts from the chamois up. The Kiss3, used, here, is no exception. This insert features a soft, brushed microfiber top which rests comfortably against your skin. This layer is seamlessly engineered so as to eliminate chafing and abrasion. Additionally, the insert has been designed with a flexible shape that moves with you. Dual density provides maximum thickness in the ischial zone and it tapers to moderate thickness in the perineal zone and minimum thickness at the perimeter. It was bacteriostatically treated so that saddle sores and friction are minimized.
The Velocissimo shorts uses its Giro 3 leg gripper to keep the Velocissimo from riding up. This wide leg gripper is essentially a compression band infused with silicone grip. As it expands, the grip makes contact with the skin. It hold your shorts tight to your legs without binding. Reflective inserts at the legs have been added for low light visibility when your long rides take you into dusk.
