Resort or Ski Area: Gunstock - Gilford, NH
Conditions: Frozen, Hard pack, Windy and cold
Trip Report: After being away from the home hill due to weather related issues and a couple of side trips to Wachusett, Berkshire East and Mount Snow - it was time to make it home to the Mighty G and it felt good to be home. Conditions are still amazing, with good coverage all around. It was cold, windy and nobody was on the hill, which was great for me! Skied everything pretty much - the entire mountain was open sans Hot Shot and the Glades. The bumps on red hat looked good, but skipped them since they were frozen and I still suck on bumps - waiting for softer days...
One of the things I really love about Gunstock is the uniqueness of each trail. Whether it is Flintlock with sweeping views of the lake, to Trigger a great cruiser, to hotshot being narrow bumpy and steep to Recoil which has great pitches and rolls to the Pistol Pod and Tiger pod - there is really something special about the hill. Mount Snow doesn't have that feel and wachusett is too small. Berkshire East does though, which was fun. All in all a great day out on the hill and fast snow!
