Assos Ec Recovery Socks

BKVOK.jpg

Over the past couple of years, we've noticed a shift in training strategies. Now, we find that coaches and sports physiologists are placing nearly equal importance on recovery as training itself. Essentially, recovery is now a fully-integrated aspect of training. This revolution has created ripples in the marketplace, enough so that Assos is now producing its first compression piece, the eC recoverySocks.
These socks feature a blended composition of polyamide/nylon and elastane. Together, each fiber fulfills a different role, working harmoniously towards a single directive -- recovery. The nylon fibers guarantee a light weight, high breathability, and comfort against the skin. Meanwhile, the elastane is featured for its stretch and conformity, and the polyamide is used for its durability. In terms of construction, the sock is minimally seamed over the foot, and completely seamless over the leg. Instead of a standard construction, the elongated cuff features a tubular knit that expresses a uniform compression over its entire construction.
You'll also find that the ribbing of the cuff is noticeably denser towards the ankle. This is due to the design principle of graduated compression. You can think of this as a value scale of shading -- darkest to lightest. Basically, graduated compression works the same way. You'll find that the highest pressures fall at the bottom of the leg, and then get gradually less constrictive towards the top, or closest to the heart. Essentially, this puts pressure on the muscles, arteries, and veins that are farthest away from the heart, ultimately forcing the body to circulate blood through narrower circulatory channels. So, almost like kinking a hose, it creates arterial pressure, and like when you finally release the kink, blood circulates faster to the heart. This accelerates recovery, by providing more oxygenated blood cells to the oxygen-deprived muscle groupings.
However, one place where the eC truly delivers is in a place where most recovery pieces completely fail -- the foot itself. You'll notice that most recovery socks are highly compressive over the foot, resulting in swelling and discomfort over time. Contrary to this, the eC features a standard toe box, arch, and top that enables you to wear the socks leisurely for longer periods of time.
The Assos eC recoverySocks are available in the color Black Volkanga and in the sizes 0 (35-38), I (38-42), and II (43-46).
