If you've spent anytime living in Vermont or watching much local news, he pretty much WAS the Vermont news anchor for decades.


Spending most of my teens and twenties in VT, I've watched more of Marselis than any other newscaster. Sad to hear the news he's passed

I agree sad to hear. I was born and raised in VT then left in my twenties so he is all I ever knew in that state.

I'm not sure any single news anchor has ever had as much of a presence in a given state as Parsons did in Vermont.
Channel 3 was pretty much the only TV news in the state for a very long time. Parsons had a slow calm delivery style that was not flashy. I was sad to see him retire a few years ago. He will be missed.
