Where: Camel’s Hump, Vermont
Conditions: Sunny, low humidity, temperature mid 70’s, great day for a hike in VT
I finally did a hike of Camel’s Hump which is one of the more popular mountains and tied with Mt Ellen as third highest peak in VT at 4,083 feet. I started on the Monroe Trail in Duxbury and did the round trip covering 7.4 miles in about 4.5 hours. I hiked the Monroe Trail to the Long Trail to the summit which is an elevation gain of about 2400 feet in 3.4 miles. On the descent I took the Long Trail to the Dean Trail and ended back on the Monroe Trail. Overall it was a good time with many other hikers enjoying the mountain on a beautiful summer day.
