    Gatlinburg ski area lost?

I know this is a northeast focused forum, but just saw on CNN that the Gatlinburg ski area is being reported as lost to the wildfires down in Tennessee. If true, sad.

Gatlinburg fires appear to destroy 3 resorts

I'll tell you where. Someplace warm. A place where the beer flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I'm talking about a little place called Aspen.

There was a Facebook post 6 hours ago that said their structure on the mountain was safe and they would be closed today and tomorrow. It doesn't sound at all like it was lost to the fire.

My hunch is that there may very well be some confusion in the context of "resort" area - meaning much of the region itself vs "resort" which to us means ski resort

They must have snowmaking guns? Sun Valley saved themselves by turning on the snow making system during a forrest fire.
Whatever hits the fan will not be distributed evenly.
