Resort:
Mount Snow

Conditions:
Frozory, 1-2 inches of new snow on top with flurries

Report: So today wasn't about the actual skiing, but more of a momentous occasion! So we left the flat lands of Acton Mass, to head up to Snow today. The reason why I picked snow, is I had my 6 year old in the car and I wanted him to get out on the magic carpet one more time this season. We arrived on the hill by 9, with first stopping off at Sports Oddesey to get the little guy booted up. He was rocking the K2's and Dalbello boots. So we made our way up to the clock tower, to get him an hour lesson and off with Jay the instructor he went.

Meanwhile ... i was able to take two runs, as the blue bird was running slower than usual (I think the wind had to do with it). After two nice crispy frozen runs with a little powder mixed in I made my way back to the discovery center. The little guy was rocking the magic carpet, and getting better at linking turns (not quite yet though!) I figured, since hell after the hour was up, and his begging he wanted to get up the discovery chair. Seeing the snow began to soften up, I figured fuck it! We're all in! A's last run for the season was off the chair lift, as he rode it like a pro!! Really proud of the little guy and basically it was a wonderful book end to my season at Snow this year. I still plan on hitting Wildcat next weekend and KTON in may. But this by far was the best!

Pictures!!

Is it April or Jan?

Nothing better than to have the little one finish the season with that boost of confidence.

Conditions look sweat. Going to give it a try tomorrow.

keep the faith
congrats on the milestone!

think something is wrong with the Bluebird chair. Last Monday I was there and must have stood in line for close to 25 minutes, maybe half an hour just waiting while it was stopped, with everyone on board as well. The entire mountain was at the base waiting in line with empty slopes. Supposedly they were checking something up at Tower 10 (from what I can recall) with snowmobiles. Not sure what happened. Seems to stop a lot though, and bounces a lot when it does.

Thumbs up!

I was there last Sunday and noticed the blue bird stopping a lot.

I think there are sensors on the towers that will stop the lift if the haul rope moves too much side to side due to wind.
