Resort: Wildcat (and Gunstock), NH

Conditions: Warm Corn Harvest - beach day

Report: So I was fortunate enough to get out on such a beautiful day to Wildcat to pretty much wrap up my season. While I am going to shoot for May 1st at the Cat and maybe June 1st at Killington, I was able to really get accomplish all I wanted this season. I was able to recover from last year's nasty injury, got new skis and boots, and broke 20 days this season. So yesterday was just really the feather in the cap. I hit some soft bumps, was able to enjoy the beautiful weather and even get a bit of a sun burn! Not to mention it was their pond skim contest too! All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better day. To make it even more awesome, I drove by my home hill, hiked up the pistol run and took one final run for the season at Gunstock too. Will I have more skiing this year? I am not sure, but I will say it was an amazing day on the snow.

The rain and non-freezing temps overnight really hurt the mountain. Sunday was a completely different Wildcat. Trails took a serious hit. Looks like they closed about 20 trails since Saturday. Ouch!

Yeah I was looking at some webcams today... I hope to get out soon again but looks doubtful. If the cat gets to May 1, I may shoot for that... and then June 1st at Kmart... Hard to say though damn off season responsibilities.

Judging by those photos and what I saw yesterday, both Tuckerman Ravine and Wildcat lost a lot of snow over the weekend.

I think Wildcat was also hurt a bit by the temps which didn't drop enough Sunday into Monday, for them to move enough snow around and do enough grooming... that's at least what I heard from some locals yesterday when they were talking about the thin coverage.

Saturday to Sunday, it didn't freeze at all. They didn't do any grooming even at the top, which was very noticeable on Sunday morning. If they weren't able to groom Sunday to Monday either, it must not be pretty.

Well, they definitely did groom for Monday. However, I don't think they were able to move snow around to cover up the really slushy areas, rocks and dirt. There was a decent amount of snow that looked like it could have been moved around too.

It really wasn't too bad, but was challenging and made their green trail Polecat more than a green.
