Looks like they all are getting snow, with BE and Snow getting a little more possibly?

Never been to B. East but sounds like a fun place. But can't imagin the good stuff will be brought back to life with one snow. Ditto for Magic.

Leaning toward Snow I suppose just because I would imagine the trail conditions would be the best.

Thoughts?

Magic will need a lot more before its really going off. Mt Snow is probably going to be crowded. If its just down to groomers I'd still take Magic over Snow due to the crowds. Not sure what B East would be like because I've never been, but I doubt they have enough natural snow either, and if we were rolling in natural snow you'd be going to Magic anyway.

Depending on road conditions, I may be headed to Berkshire East tomorrow afternoon. Will post a report if I make it there.

I would do Berkshire East, and actually thinking about doing just that. They've been blasting snow, and they can recover from icy disasters quickly as they proved last year... I went there 2 days after the big ice storm and I was skiing fresh manmade powder and packed powder mostly.

Also looks like their trail count didn't take much of a hit.

A minute from the Alta exit off the I-15!
I'd do Mount Snow. It will still be groomers only at each hill. Magic will be "limited" at best. Berkshire East is small...I like the place but find it a bit overrated on this forum...just my opinion. It's small...the summit quad is 930 vertical feet...total BS on the 1,100 vertical they claim. Terrain is varied when it's all open, but as I said...you're looking at just groomers.

Mount Snow will definitely have the best conditions and the most terrain. They will probably have a couple bump trails on the North Face...they're pretty good about not grooming. Crowds at not an issue, even on a Friday. Maybe a 1-2 minute wait at the Bluebird at 10am.

I'm choosing between Catamount and Berkshire East Friday as well. Unless Berkshire East gets 6"+ and Catamount gets less than 3" I'm going to Catamount. Slightly more vertical and 1.5 hours from home instead of 2.5.

Wherever you/I go the weather will be BEAUTIFUL!

Mt. Snow. No crowds midweek. Enjoy and have FUN!
here will make the trail selection and surface conditions great. Magic will likely only have 1 way down...groomed. I doubt tonights event will get much of the natural stuff back into play. Maybe some low angle east side stuff, but even that'll be tough.

Second this. Mount Snow on a midweek day is pretty great. The snowmaking + grooming t

Berkshire East conditions report this morning:

Mother Nature is coming in to add to the hard work of our snowmaking crew. Snow fell steadily Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. There is 6 inches on the ground and more coming from the sky. Expecting snow to taper off around 1pm. Skiing will be on powder and packed powder conditions. Open to skiing and riding on 35 trails and 4 lifts. The forecast is for snow through the morning and into afternoon with a high of 30

Just bought tickets for Hunter on Thursday and Snow on friday....too great of a savings not to lock something in.

My own little Peak tour....two days of high speed 6 packs and hopefully soft groomers and bumps...

Magic will be about one third open. Here is the prediction from them for Thursday: https://www.magicmtn.com/mountain

Really 3 ways down plus a few little variations. Some will be ungroomed. No West side.

Usually Magic goes off with 8" so I don't know what the plan is for tomorrow.

well, I've never been, but it sounds like the damage to VT is more that a typical thaw/freeze. Hope I'm wrong.

But my course is set. See you guys on the six packs!

Oh - new canned beer bar at Snow....interested to see if they have some rare stuff....

Have a great weekend everyone.

I've seen some pretty solid, tougher to find labels in canned thus far. They're also always rotating new releases in as soon as they can get them....

I guess the original poster has decided on Mt Snow, but FWIW I did go to Berkshire East late yesterday afternoon. They are claiming they got 8” on their website, but it seemed a little less than that to me. In any case, it was not enough for them to drop the ropes on some of my favorite natural trails ... Jug, Roy’s Way, Broken Arrow, Upper & Lower Liftline, and the very top part of Minnie Dole to the right of the Summit Quad were all closed :x. Only natural trail I saw open was Bear Run. Had fun in the big bumps all over Flying Cloud, but they have most likely been erased by the groomer by now. Hopefully they leave the skiers right ungroomed as in past years, but the entire width of the trail had been groomed when I went last week. Other trails like Big Chief and middle & and lower Minnie Dole which are usually pretty smooth were also starting to bump up. So to sum up there is plenty of snow on the main trails, which likely have been groomed by now, but if you’re looking to ski the natural trails or the woods you will be disappointed.
