I purchased mine from this site: http://www.sports-camera.com/helmet_cameras.htm about 4 years ago. The site is in England, but had the best price and delivery only took like 3-4 days. Works pretty good, but it's not perfect and does take time to setup. Few things to consider are:

* Resolution, I believe the highest is 560 lines
* Remote control, the Sony cam, which is what I purchased come with a Lanc RC. This requires a Lanc connector which I believe only comes on Sony camcorders and I'm not sure if the new ones have it. For me that's something that is very important.

i got my bullet camera on ebay for about 168$. it;s high resolution as far as cameras go and got a sony ccd. I paired it up with a 90$ pvr.

not a perfect solution. it;s a little clumsy with all the wires and batteries. would be cool to have a remote control. hey, any eye reticle would be cool too!

I bought a ATC2k for around $100 for kayaking and have seen them listed for even less since then. It is a water proof and bullet proof fully self contained unit that takes some impressive hits. It is kind of a pain to take off your helmet to see if the button is turned on or off and the video comes out crummy if you do not keep your subject in frame (which I never do). Do a search at youtube for "ATC2k test" or "ATC2000 test" if you want to see the good, the bad, and the ugly. Some of the best footage I have seen from this camera is on the ski slopes, though.

I dont' have any experience with this but a ski/ mtb bud just picked this up for his jackson hole trip, from bikevmb.com:

GoPro Helmet Hero 3

It is self contained and wireless
It is multi mountable
Picture is pretty clear (on the internet, anyway, keeping my fingers crossed that it is half decent on DVD)
Runs on lithium/recharchable AAA
Got nice review on www.helmetcameracentral.com
It's Cheap
Jonk has one and likes it
Needs no Drivers
Adjustable microphone for phasing out wind
Waterproof
