Curious why Upper Pike wasn't open and you had to 'poach it' ???

Today looked sick! I only wish I got to enjoy such nice fluff.

upper pike was closed because the top 1/3 had blue ice showing through (the wind blew the fluff off of it.) There is an entrance through a short patch of trees off of Upper KA. Because the snow was winblown there was 5-6" of fluff on the sides me and a couple skiers were poaching. Good stuff.
