Date(s) Skied:
3/15 and 3/16

Resort or Ski Area:
Okemo, VT

Conditions:
Spring conditions, Variable conditions, granulated sugar, 3-5 inches of new snow overnight on skied off crust.

Trip Report:
Rained on the way up friday night. We were hoping it would be snow in the uppper elevations. there was alot of snow covering the trees so we had hope.

Saturday was overcast and it was trying to snow. the Weather above freezing from about midway up to the top. noticeably warmer below mid station and at the base. Seems like the snow was firmer in the south peak and glades peak as they were higher in elevation. There was pretty good coverage through out and the base look pretty thick with no brown or thin spots. Did alot of cruiser types blue and black trails in the south peak and glades peak areas.

Did the Jackson Gore side in the afternoon and it was a bit sloppier although coverage was good. found some good bump trails on a trail called Escape that had softened up.

Sunday was a tad colder with the sun peaking out. it probably snowed a dusting overnight. Spent a half day back in the glades peak and south peak areas as we wanted to stay as high up. Snow quality was good overall and the sun warmed up the snow moguls on Punchline. Did some of the marked tree trails-Loose Spruce, Double Diamond and Outrage. they were a little bony and exposed. More cruising on the blue and single black trails.

Overall, a relaxing 2 days cruising at Okemo. I must say that coverage was pretty deep through out. could have been alot worse with the warm weather and threat of rain.

pics to follow shortly

We were there both days too. It was our first time on the mountain, but had season pass holders as our guide. The glade trails, Loose Spruce, Forest Bump, and Supernova were all a lot of fun on Saturday after they dropped the ropes midday. Sunday not so much. We will be back.
