Resort or Ski Area: Pats Peak

Conditions: Powder, powder, powder

Trip Report: Ms. Trailboss and I stopped by for a few runs on President's Day. The drive took two hours (normally 1.25 or so) due to the roads and weather, but we found some nice powder skiing on the runs. We stayed for a couple hours (season pass holders) and hit the upper mountain runs including Twister, Cyclone, and East Wind which had all improved significantly since our last visit (Saturday) thanks to the snow. For the last two runs, we hit the re-opened Downdraft (closed for NASTAR) and Trailboss found BOOT DEEP powder on both sides...that led many on the chairs to drool and then hit it afterwards. It was great...but the snow was groomed edge to edge by the next week  .

Postnote for Feb 25th and 26th visits: There was some nice soft snow and powder on the sides of Cyclone and Twister on Friday evening (Feb 25th)...had the place largely to myself for a while under the lights. The expert bump runs of Tornado, Hurricane, and Vortex are now skiable thanks to the recent snowfall (they were quite icy before :x ).
