    Question: Would it be easier to just enter the entire YouTube URL instead of stripping out the YT ID?

    That may be easier, but would it break all the stuff that's already posted using just the ID?

    Good point.

    I don't feel that it take a whole lot of extra time to just select the id instead of the whole URL, IMHO. I see no need to change that.

    I was thinking different BBCode ([yt]) for the whole URL version. The problem is the embed code requires a different URL than the "watch" URL. I fooled with it, but gave up. I would also love to be able to display HQ vid by default, but that's not easy yet either.

    Can't you just write a little function that strips the ID off of the URL and then places it into the embed URL just like the current tag is doing?
