Has anyone read this book? Does anyone buy it that this guy power-hiked the A.T. wearing nothing but a bandana, and only ate bark and leaves along the way? I thought it was fiction, but apparently is a true story. WOW! And I thought I was low-tech! I can't remember who wrote it or the guys name, I loaned it to someone and they didn't return it, but the guy in the book lives on his compound called "Turtle Island", I think, in North Carolina? I know this will irk some readers, but I can't help giggling uncontrolably when I see hikers with GPS units and cell phones. Anyway the book is very interesting!

I picked up a copy from the bargain table at Barnes & Noble the other day. Not sure I bit because of the subject matter or the price ($3.99) but so far, after a couple of chapters, it’s a pretty good read. Too soon to tell how the story will turn out but the author (Elizabeth Gilbert) does seem to know how to tell one.
