Mount Garfield
Date Hiked- June 11
Trails Used- Garfield Trail and Garfield Ridge Trails

Distance- 10 miles

Conditions- Trail realively dry, with a few muddy spots on the lower half with several minor blowdowns to move around. Stream crossings were basically rock hops. All snow had melted.

Report: We got a late start around 11:40. It was hot and muggy day and one of our hikers was on her first NH hike. She not totaly prepared for a 4000-footer on a hot muggy day. She did a great job by finishing it and congrats on her first 4Ker. Got to the summit around 3:00. The summit is a beautiful rocky face (I'll post pix when i get them from a friend). We hung out until 3:30, but were chased off by black clouds coming off the Franconia Ridge. Although we heard some thunder, it never rained during the hike. Made it back to the car around 5:15. It rained on our way back to Russell Pond Campground.
