Site Performance

Have you noticed any significant differences in this Web site's performance before the host change in mid-May? Personally, I've experienced several instances where the site is slow or not accessible at all. When it runs well, it really cooks, but I've seen a lot of downtime compared to the old host. I hope to have the site moved to a new server overnight some night this week, but I'm curious as to what others have experienced.

I've seen issues just lately, like the past week or two. Mostly slow loadings, a few times I haven't been able to get in at all, either to the forums or the site in general.

I've been getting connection refused messages in firefox. I figured that it was just a browser issue. But then I tried in IE and was also getting nothing.

Between that and slowness lately... somethings going on.

Yeah - recently there have been times when I couldn't get in. That never happened until just the past few weeks.

I only check the site once or twice per day and haven't been affected by any of the aforementioned issues, so I would personally say "About the same".

When its working its working good, I don't know if I'd say it was better I nver had any problems before. However, at least once a day (probably more like 2-3 times a day) for the last few weeks I've experienced extremely slow load times and maybe 3-4 times a week that I can't get into the site at all, sometimes while I'm in the middle of a post! I was going to post something, but I saw in past threads that you were working on the problem with the host so I didn't bother.

Thanks for the feedback, all. The site will be moved to a new server overnight tonight so let's see what tomorrow brings...

Yeah, it did get moved, but it seems pretty sluggish for me this morning. Useable, but certainly not zippy... :-?

The slow down was on my end. A restart solved it and now the forums are very zippy. How's the site running this morning for everyone else?

Its been much better than the last couple of weeks. Still a few instances of minor sluggishness, but that could be attributed to the LAN here at work too...

The site seems to be running much slower, and there were instances last week when I could not get on AT ALL :angry:

Did the home page get a redesign? It was different looking when I just logged online.

The server move resulted in some theme issues. I'm working with the host on this.

I still think that even with the conectivity issues, this is hands down the best ski website.

I have made the full conversion from First Tracks to this website with all of it's fine people. :beer:
