Peak Mt. Monadnock
Trail: Dublin
Conditions: Wet as it had rained in the early afternoon & was still raining a little at the start. For about five minutes around 4:30 it snowed.
Difficulty: It;s moderate overall, some near flat walking mixed with some rocky moderately steep parts. It's onlt 2.2 each way & about 1700 feet of elevation gain.
Comments: It was 41 degrees at the car at 3:50 by the time i got to the top it was clear nearby but VT & northern New Hampshire were getting snow in the higher elevations. Weekdays & late afternnons or real early (trying to be on top for sunrise) mornings are the time to do Monadnock. Crowds? 2nd most climbed mountain in the world? Ha
I only saw a father & two boys around 4:10 while I was on my way up & one couple on the summit around 5:05 PM.
