HUNTINGTON (WABC) -- Police continue to search for the owner of a boat they discovered covered in blood off the coast of Long Island.
Authorities say they were tipped off when someone spied the sailboat adrift off Lloyd Harbor. Suffolk County police found the 27-foot Cape Dory sailboat, named Caramar, drifting at approximately 8 p.m. Thursday. They were surprised to find it covered in blood.
Police towed it to a dock in Huntington, where it was scoured for any clues or signs of the owner.
At least one person saw the owner board the boat on Thursday, but he has not been heard from since. Police searched an area of Long Island Sound, but at this point have not found a body.
