I think instant replay is a bad idea in baseball. Baseball relies on the fluid nature of the game as it is played. And, do we really need anything to extend the time that it takes to play the game? 4 hour games are too long as it is.

Taipei keeps hopes alive; rain washes out two ballgames

Instant replay, a hot topic at all levels of baseball, came into play and preserved a win in a consolation game of the Little League World Series on Monday as Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany, slipped past Plymouth, Minn., 2-1.
Germany's Kyle Foley reached base in the fifth inning on a call at first which originally ruled him out. Following this year's new system, replay officials reviewed the call and reversed it after manager Gary Harrington challenged. Foley eventually scored the winning run for the Ramstein squad.
The first afternoon contest wasn't nearly as close, as the squad from Taipei blasted past the Canadian squad, 23-0, to advance. Taipei's offense was paced by Shao-Fei Huang, who turned in a 3-for-3 day with six RBIs, but there were contributions from all corners of the lineup. The game was called due to the mercy rule after four innings of play.
In the nightcap, Mexico's Eduardo Mata struck out 11 and gave up only five hits to lead Nuevo Laredo to a 4-2 victory, ousting Puerto Rico's team from Manati from the tournament. Puerto Rico, coached by Jose Valentin Sr. -- the father of former Major Leaguer Jose Valentin -- committed seven errors in the loss.
Mother Nature also intervened Monday night.
The Great Lakes Region Champion from Hamilton, Ohio, and the team from Columbus, Ga., the Southeast Region Champion, did not complete an inning in their Pool 'A' winner's bracket game because of rain, and as a result, all game records were disregarded. The Pool 'B' elimination game between the Fairfield, Conn., American Little League, the New England Region Champions, and Northwest Region Champion from Auburn, Wash., was also affected by weather and did not start.
As a result, the Ohio-Georgia game will be played at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, while the Connecticut-Washington clash will be played at 8 p.m. Games originally scheduled for 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Tuesday were pushed back a day.
