I think there are a lot more than just those that make the news.

Sorry to read the bad news. I saw this after my trip report post. Seeing a skier fall into the trees shakes you up a bit. The kid at Plattekill was truly fortunate; it could have been so much worse.

I also think there have been a high number of deadly accidents at the Eastern areas this year. Mostly on Blue Square rated trails, too.
