+1 on the cruise control set to 70

Also allows me to get a quick nap in on those straight sections of road
I've decided I'm going to take Sunday afternoon naps before heading back. I always tend to nod off a little on Rt 100/103, and getting that out of the way at the house should let the traffic clear a bit.

Unfortunately, as I learned this weekend, it also means that when I get back into Hartford radio range all the crappy Sunday night programming has taken over.

Smartphone + Aux input on radio + Pandora FTW

Did this on the way up / back to SR last weekend.

No monkeying with radio stations or CDs, no static...

Awesome.

Thank GOD for unlimited data plans.

Back when I had a radar detector all it did for me, was tell me when to pull over and get my ticket. I am a much better driver since getting rid of it.

Apparently, hell has frozen over. We made it up to VT in under 2 hours on the day before Thanksgiving. Left CT a bit after 5...got to VT a bit after 7. And we were in the Jeep...which is no speed machine to say the least.

Be safe out there everyone. I saw two people pulled over; one near the Delany House, another near the first Northampton exit.

Also saw a VT Trooper radaring on the top of the hill before you hit the first VT rest area.

I've got my Zune and FM transmitter, works pretty well. But once I get into radio range of Hartford, I like to switch back. Sunday nights are just an issue.

They were out bright and early on 84 in Southington this morning, luckily he already had someone pulled over.

Based on the story I read in the Boston Globe this AM, I'm guessing they didn't write too many speeding tickets yesterday PM on the Pike between Framingham and the top of I-84. Just your standard Mass Turnpike authority DUMB descision to keep the tolls up and collecting on the busiest travel day on the year on one of the main highway corridors between NY and Boston, 30 mile back up

Check with Escort, they have a very reasonable repair plan. The $300 8500 repair cost is just a fixed $50 charge.
I've had to repair both of our 8500s but I was able to repair them myself. The tantalum surface mount capacitors in the Laser detector section break down over time and needed replacement.

Bump!

VT Troopers have stepped it up a bit. Friday, on the northbound side there was a trooper off in the grass (just off the breakdown lane) out of his car, radaring/lasering. Yesterday, we had a trooper behind us as we jumped on 91 South at Exit 2. He bagged a guy about 2 minutes later. Also, saw another trooper northbound....just a bit up from the state line.

And there were few out in Mass as well.

The MA state police were out there in full force Saturday afternoon on my ride home from Magic. I had the cruise set at around 75 and was the fastest one out there so I lowered it to around 70.
