jumped in the car, spur of the moment and decided to stop at a classic. There was less than an inch of frozen sleet and snow in the parking lot but plenty of clouds to the north. N. or S. Kinsman was my other candidate hike but I was concerned about weather. hiked counter-clock wise, about 1/2 way up clouds began to move in and snow picked up considerably. All the ledges were frozen and some sort of traction on my soles would have been a good idea. By the time we got to the summit, the snow was coming down hard - took a fall on a ledge going down and had to self arrest! great to see snow!
