Sad news. Belleayre's mid-station Tomahawk Lift Attendant Jerry Siegel passed away. If you skied Belleayre you know who I am talking about. Jerry's love for life was contagious as he played a wide variety of classical music at his mid station post. Unfortunately, Jerry was unable to work last year. If there was a lift attendant's hall of fame, Jerry Siegel would definitely be in it.

Here is a wave to you Jerry. We will miss you.

I missed him this winter -- and will miss him every winter. He was a very cool and friendly presence.

NYS constitution should be amended to require classical music and jazz standards -- and a bare minimum of show tunes -- at the Tomahawk midstation. Forever mild!

Actually come to think of it when we were at Sugarloaf for the AZ summit this past year there was a liftie who was so over-enthusiastic I remember it striking me. He was on the beginner slopes, my wife was taking some lessons, and every single time we hopped on the lift he would say, "here you go, have a wonderful day!" or something. And I kept thinking, I just saw you 2 minutes ago, haha. But it was kind of nice and stuck with me throughout the day.

Sounds like Jerry was that kinda guy.

I was at Bell twice last season, and did note that he was not there.

Sad, will think about hime and the music whenever I ride that lift in the future.
