50 years is a long time to be building handlebars, and despite the fact that 3T has since passed that mark, its Ergosum Team Handlebar proves that the brand is committed to progress. Featuring 3T's wildly popular long reach/shallow drop shape, this handlebar blends classic good looks with modern ergonomics. And it's reinforced for use with clip-on aero bars, which means it's more than strong enough for the most powerful riders, which you might not have guessed based on its 195g weight.
We'll admit it, we love the aesthetic of a classic bend bar, but times have changed, and accordingly, so have riding positions. The classic position of riding in the drops has largely been abandoned in favor of riding in the hoods, and the Ergosum's shape reflects this change in preference. The reach has been lengthened slightly to mimic a traditional reach, while the shallow drop ensures that your position in the drops is comfortable, instead of being too low. 3T built the Ergosum handlebar out of carbon fiber, which keeps the weight under 200 grams for the 42cm version. And despite the feathery weight, the flats have been reinforced to accommodate the majority of clip-on aero bars. As you'd expect, you'll need to pay particularly close attention to the torque settings, but clip-on-compatible carbon bars are hard to come by, and the attention is well worth the added versatility.
