ABC News Correspondent Bob Woodruff to Deliver Event's Keynote Address

STOWE, VT -- March 13, 2012 - Chartis today announced that its 2012 Winter Summit benefiting Disabled Sports USA's (DS/USA) Warfighter Sports Program will take place March 13-16 at Stowe Mountain Resort. ABC News Correspondent Bob Woodruff is serving as the event's keynote speaker.

In its 24th year, the Winter Summit is a business building event attended by a number of participants across the insurance industry. The event combines Chartis-led panel sessions with ski and snowboarding races, forming a fundraising platform on behalf of DS/USA whose Warfighter Sports Program offers sports rehabilitation for those wounded in combat. Mr. Woodruff's remarks on the closing evening of the Winter Summit will address efforts to assist injured service members, veterans and their families -- including those involved in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars - along with related issues.

Peter Hancock, Chief Executive Officer of Chartis, said, "We are a proud sponsor of DS/USA's Warfighter Sports Program. The Winter Summit represents a great opportunity to collaborate with our business partners to support this important cause, and we are grateful for their participation in this year's event and contribution to the topical discussions of important industry issues."

The panel sessions will be led by Chartis senior executives on a wide range of topics, including: the impact of catastrophic events on the supply chain; global infrastructure solutions; corporate reputation protection during a crisis; healthcare reform; and terrorism risk, among others. While on the slopes, event attendees will be able to participate in practice runs with celebrity ski host and Olympic gold medalist Tommy Moe.

Kirk Bauer, Executive Director of DS/USA, said, "I'd like to thank Chartis and all of this year's Winter Summit sponsors for their generous contributions on behalf of the Warfighter Sports Program, which plays an important role in the lives of so many of our wounded warriors and their families. Events like the Winter Summit are a terrific opportunity to have fun, engage in some healthy competition and support our wounded warriors with meaningful programs that rebuild lives."

Mr. Woodruff said, "The Winter Summit is a great way to raise awareness of the challenges facing those injured in combat. The encouragement and support provided by an event such as this helps to reintegrate our nation's injured heroes back into their communities so they may thrive physically, psychologically, socially and economically."
