We did our last ski stop on our trip back to Denver which was at Copper Mountain on New Years day getting in 2 solid hours of skiing. While the crowds weren't bad at all, the snow wasn't great. The conditions on and off trail were very boney, sharks where hidden all over the place both on the upper and lower parts of the mountain.
On a positive note, the views here are amazing. I was at Copper before in the summer and have been throughly impressed with the place during both seasons. The infrastructure is great and we thought the terrain was solid. There is alot of open bowl skiing here and the tree skiing under good conditions looks pretty solid too. This is a nice, mellow-ish family mountain with a similar feel to Winter Park and Steamboat we thought. I'd love to come back when the conditions are better one day. Here were some of my best photos of the day...
