Hunter Mt. NY

Conditions
Plenty snow. Even a few untracked lines on edges of some trails.

Report

Got to mountain about 0930. Temp was 8 degrees. Variable winds 15 - 20 mph. Clear and Sunny! Had great snow, and the guns were going full blast. The good thing was that it was so cold that the stuff did not stick to our googles much. Very few skiers meant we could take any line at any pace with total abandon! Good coverage on all trails and even on the moguls. Annapurna (The double black) out back was totally powdered and all bumps. Gave us a really good burn. We stayed nicely covered to avoid frost bite and had a great time. Things warmed up into low teens by PM. Skied until a little after 4 PM (my companions wimped out on me by 1430, but then it was their first day on the slopes this year.) and then called it. Great drive going back to LI. Temps kept road spray to a minimum!
