at $280 its a lot easier to swallow. dont need it for the holiday dates with the full ikon and plenty of spots are without blackouts. cannon becomes a late season play. thats the main change for me.

i am very against mandatory $10 charge for the worthless token pass card that doesnt serve as an RFID at just about everywhere

Funny, the one place that has me use it for RFID doesn't use the Indy guy's Entabeni system. Would be worth the $10 to avoid the long lines that Entabeni creates. I always try to show up extra early when I know it's that system.

Yeah that charge is bullshit. They'd be better off just calling it a handling fee.

Come on man, everyone loves managing a stack of cards for nearly every place the pass is accepted!PXL_20240307_205303438.MP.jpg

I like the physical pass. I'm up to 20 years in a row with a season pass now.

Although I did laugh when Indy sent me two last fall. That was probably an expensive mistake to send everybody two.

I ended up breaking down and renewing even though I haven't even used this year's yet. Hopefully I actually use it at places like Magic, Cannon, and Berkshire East next year and not just Jay.

Indy's Mogenson just posted an update on FB. Jay stays. Teasing new resorts announced tomorrow.

More from Mogenson just posted ...

We are announcing that seven new Alpine resorts and five cat skiing operations have been added to the 2024/25 Pass.

New Alpine Resorts Include:
  • Big Moose Mountain, Maine
  • Mt. Eyak, Alaska
  • Mt. Washington Alpine Resort, British Columbia
  • Powderhorn Mountain Resort, Colorado
  • Steeplechase, Minnesota
  • Wintergreen Resort, Virginia
  • Wisp Resort, Maryland
New discounted cat skiing operations Include:
  • Big Red Cats, British Columbia
  • Selkirk Powder, Idaho
  • Brundage Mountain Snowcat Adventures, Idaho
  • Soldier Mountain Cat Skiing, Idaho
  • Cascade Powder Guides, Washington
Cat skiing is a new addition to the Indy Pass. Alpine passholders will receive a 10% discount when they book day seats or packaged visits. We will be working hard on this program over the summer. Expect more to come.
We expect nearly all current resorts to return, including 100% of its New England partners, such as Jay Peak, Waterville Valley, Cannon, Pats Peak, Bolton Valley, Catamount, Berkshire East, and Saddleback.
These 11 new partners are just the beginning of our additions for next season; we are nowhere close to done.
We all have a role to play in keeping skiing independent, and we are grateful to have you by our side.

Arapahoe Basin going to Alterra.

I love how this makes it sound like the NFL or NHL draft. It may as well be at this point.

Vail Resorts, you are on the clock....

With the next selection, Vail chooses......
And, Powderhorn goes to Indy in the latest round. Actually a good pick and somewhat of a game changer for Indy in Colorado. Combo with Sunlight and plenty of lodging between Glenwood Springs and Grand Junction.

Have to imagine no Ragged because they feel NH is saturated and adding Ragged would harm redemption rates at other NH Indy properties

Ragged would have been nice, but I'm glad they're not kicking Whaleback to the curb.

The already strong Southeast offering become even stronger.

I still need to get to Mt. Washington, that makes a trip to Hurricane Ridge more feasible if you take the ferry from Port Angeles.

Still hoping they make some progress in Quebec. Thinking of a trip there next year. I'll can get the Quebec discount card, but like Indy, you can only use it once a day.

Actually read on Storm Skiing that Ragged not jumping on was PGRI decision, not Indy. They felt with Ragged pass volume they already sell, Indy added in could overwhelm. Too bad, had Ragged gone on I may have rejoined Indy for midweek close to MHT options. Would have put 8 days withing 1.5 hours in play. Oh well, Epic NE Midweek + NEP Silver it will be again.

Aspirationalism is a thing. Used it once so far this year. Hopefully 2nd time this week. Re-upped the other day. Next year I’ll have much more leisure time, right? Right!?
Thanks for the reality shot.

I was tempted when Indy pass went on sale last fall. I knew this winter I wouldn’t have enough free time to make my usual IKON pass pay. But Indy? It’s half the cost, maybe I can make it pay? But it was too borderline I decided not to.

When I found out, in January, I have 1 week free in mid-March, I hit myself on the head for passing up on the Indy. But now, given the condition, I don’t think I‘m missing anything.

Moreover, IKON pass sale had just started now. I could buy that and ski at Sugarbush/Stratton next week! But that’s only if I think I can use the IKON sufficiently next winter. I was contemplating that. Until I saw your post and realize I was suffering from aspirationalism.
