I was really looking to start the season so I could break in my new pair of boots. While the weather has not been great for snowmaking I was determined to get out for the first time of the season. I decided to use one of my three Sunapee bonus days attached to my Pico pass. Nice morning to be out. 34 when I got there and low 40s when I left around lunch. Not a huge amount open. Essentially from the air the mountain must have looked like a giant white frozen number four had been painted on it but what was open was pretty good for pre season. No bare spots when I was there, a little chopped up here and there and some firm spots as the morning went on but it was so nice to be out I had no complaints. No lines and parking was very easy which can't always be said for Sunapee.
