Freeskiers set records as Torin Yater-Wallace becomes the youngest Winter Dew Tour winner ever and Tom Wallisch wins with the highest freeski score in the Tour's history

KILLINGTON, Vt. (January 22, 2012) - Vermont's Killington Resort hosted the 2011-12 Winter Dew Tour, the largest on-snow event in the East, with superpipe and slopestyle competitions at Bear Mountain that included a VIP Party at the Wobbly Barn with a live DJ set from RAC. Over the course of the four-day event, approximately 32,000 people experience this year's Pantech Invitational at Killington Resort, a 10% increase from last year's event.

Saturday afternoon, snowboarders threw down their best in the slopestyle finals and the competition continued into the night with the freeskier superpipe finals in an under-the-lights aerial battle. The action concluded today with heart-pounding showdowns in the freeskiers' slopestyle finals and men's snowboard superpipe finals with top Tour rankings and Dew Cup bragging rights on the line.

"We're thrilled to host the only East Coast stop of the Winter Dew Tour for the second year in a row," stated Chris Nyberg, president and general manager for Killington Resort, "It was incredible to watch these world-class athletes battle it out," he continued. "This was an extraordinary event that brings the Killington community together and is enjoyed by our guests."

Saturday kicked off with men's snowboard slopestyle finals where Eric Willet, out of Breckenridge, CO, took first place with a stellar run putting him in third for the Dew Cup standings heading into the final stop at Snowbasin in Utah.

The ladies took the stage next as they dropped into the superpipe finals with Maddie Bowman from South Lake Tahoe, CA, bringing amplitude and style that carried her to the top podium. The night concluded under the lights where Torin Yater-Wallace won his first pro event and became the youngest Winter Dew Tour event winner ever at age 16.

This morning, women freeskiers started the competition with slopestyle finals where Montreal native Kaya Turski took first, edging out Vermonter Devin Logan. Turski now leads the race for the Dew Cup. Men's freeski competition was topped off by Tom Wallisch achieving the highest ever Winter Dew Tour score in slopestyle. He heads into the Dew Tour Toyota Championships at Snowbasin in first place.
The Tour concluded late Sunday afternoon in a heart pounding battle as I-Pod (Iouri Podladtchikov) upset Louie Vito, the reigning Dew Cup Champion in the superpipe, in the last two runs of the event. I-Pod now holds first place with a two point lead over Vito as they prepare for the final stop in Utah.
