You can't let it get to you. Most people have no use for the snow except for Christmas. Those choruses will become louder and louder as we progress thru the winter. I think I would be miserable living in the northeast if I wasn't a winter sports fanatic.

That is true, I do say I enjoy going skiing AMD sometimes they say they know someone who skis but usually they just want sun. I get it I don't love commuting on warm bus with winter clothes.

I know that snow is basically wasted here in the flatlands, but when we get rain in the middle of winter and some idiot has to say "it's better then snow" I have to take a deep breath and count to 10. It's the North East. It's supposed to snow in the winter. I get gitty when I see flakes flying. If you can't enjoy it, MOVE. Shit, even plowing snow can be fun and the pay ain't to shabby either.

When I hear people complain I tell them they live in a free country and to move. It snows here, always has. This year is no exception so quit complaining.

Gets people giving me some weird looks.

As far as stuff people say, I can relate to this very well. My other half crawls into a ball and cries all winter long. Lets just say we don't share vacation time during the winter months. Other half is down in Florida and I'm spending the month of february up in Stowe! What I hear daily is "You like it so much, you take the trash out, you feed the horses and you plow the driveway".... "I rather cut my leg off than spend a day freezing out in the snow" followed by a smart ass "Have Fun" comment... As far as other people, I always get amused by the saying "Its going to be a really bad snow storm" to which I always reply, "more like bad-ass snow storm and I can't wait to get out in it and play"... That usually gets me some weird looks. lol

Ha, I didn't know Christie was a member here, hope he's got his DIN cranked, maybe he's a boarder.:-o Ironically, I think I spend more time outdoors in the Winter than the Summer. I can remember riding the chair early in the season and thinking to myself, hey this is nice, I need to get outside more often.

Cornhead - every time I get on a lift, I think the same thing. Enjoying the views riding up, chatting with strangers, watching skiers and the anticipation of the coming run down the mountain. Nothing better, except maybe a good shag..... lol

What gets me is all the people who follow ski resorts (mostly resorts that also have summer activities) on FB and leave negative comments when the resorts post "It's snowing" updates or pics. I just want to slap them.

Actually I could do without snow in NYC. Let it all fall in the mountains where it belongs. I know they're having a bad year so far but an ideal place to live would be someplace like Reno or Carson City. People walking around in short sleeve shirts in town, get in the car & drive a 1/2 hr. or 45 min. & you're up in the mountains buried in snow.

LOL! I got some cones in my garage that I use against those who dis me. ;)

I share his pain. My friends ALL go on and on about how they hate the cold, the snow and want to live in (UGH!!) Florida. I keep complaining about how warm it is, except for last week during the "Polar Vortex" when they said "Cold enough for you?" and my reply was "Yeah, now we need some SNOW."

They all think I'm crazy when I run outside and go hiking, snowshowing and skiing at the first sign of any accumulating white stuff. They all sit inside and bitch about it on Facebook and moan about how they'd rather be in Florida. I'm making plans to move to out to where I can enjoy winter properly instead of cursing at the rain in January.
:snow: Cold and snow is what winter is and hopefully in 2 years I'm going to where it's like that. Enough of this warm in winter crap!

Wherever you are it sucks, right? LOL! I could never live in Florida. I bitch about the heat and humidity in NJ during the summer, can't imagine living down south. Plus it's FLAT.

I don't get the complaining. If people are that against winter...move to somewhere it doesn't winter. Seems like a very simple solution.

The real funny one is occasional skiier or Snowboarder talking about wanting warm and I like but you enjoy turns at the hill and then they dont say much because they know I am dedicated skiier all year .

I lived in Southern California for seven years. There were time when we played golf during the day and skied at night at Snow Summit. The other one we used to go to was Bear Mountain. It was actually kind of cool! However, I love the feeling that I get when oi look out the window and it is snowing! I become a kid again. I am one of those annoying people that talk about winter during the summer. I also express my love for winter to everyone.

Funny thing about snow - when it is falling most people do not mind walking around in it, watching it, and looking at the results of it! But ....when it rains people avoid it like the plague! I will take snow any day
