We're going to a timeshare near Ascutney in a few weeks for the weekend (one of a few places that allow nightly reservations that we could get into). Wondering what our best options are for skiing on a Saturday (skill level upper intermediate). Thanks in advance.

How about Dartmouth Skiway? Low prices, no crowds, and good intermediate terrain on Winslow.

Been to Sunapee enough times on day trips, my wife would want something different. So far it looks like it will be Okemo which should be fine. Now all we need is the right weather over the next few weeks.

For an upper intermediate skier and these conditions how could you go wrong with the quick drive to Okemo? Okemowill make the best of the situation.

I was gonna say Sunape.

If people are saying sunapee, then Ragged should definitely be an option too. Great terrain, great people, fair lift tickets and just an awesome atmosphere all around.

Whaleback is another one that could use the business.

I noticed someone mentioned Magic, if that's under consideration for you, then Stratton and Bromely can be thrown in too. I like to call it the Southern VT triangle with those three, very close together.

I would say this too, however, with the current state of conditions I think I would go big w/snowmaking over Skiways.

Been there done that prior to the rain and the trails were limited. Good base but limited. I agree with the go big with a heavy lifter with snowmaking capacity - Okemo or Killington. Okemo is closer and very appropriate for the skill level!

You're right near 91, so one option nobody mentioned is you could go North, it's like 1.5 hr to Stowe or Sugarbush
If you go East/West you are 30 minutes in either direction from Okemo or Sunapee (great places to go during a snow drought)

Not sure how many weeks out you're talking but if winter finally comes right stay and it snows Magic and Pico will definitely be less crowded on a Saturday than many others. If it stays like this than I think Okemo is a great option for you.
