Killington will Open Before Sunday River This Season

Killington has better terrain? Other than that, I don't know--please enlighten me.

Killington will Open Before Sunday River This Season

Ok, just checked this using the opening-date-to-closing-date, which doesn't penalize SR for it's tendency to only open on weekends at first. For 11/12, Killington was open 7 days longer, K from 10/29 to 4/22, SR from 10/29 to 4/15. For 10/11, Sunday River was open 4 days longer, K from 11/2 to...

Killington will Open Before Sunday River This Season

Is this true? I don't have stats at hand, but it seems unlikely to me. Last year was good for K, but I thought SR beat them at least some of the last several years. Here's a press release that indicates SR thinks it won in 2010/11...

Is 4WD/AWD a neccesity on your ski vehicle?

This comment is incorrect. 4WD is better to get you going--no doubt, but snow tires are way more beneficial for stopping and keeping you on the road. If you need to get up an un-plowed driveway, I'd take 4WD. But most people should be more concerned about staying safe at speed, in slippery...

Night skiing article - Boston Herald

I grew up night skiing at Roundtop, and I loved it. When properly lit, I agree that it's much easier to see. After moving to New England, I've been disappointed with night skiing--it seems like the bigger the mountain, the more poorly lit, and the less/worse terrain they make available...

AZ Challenge 2011: Angie Carroll of Mt. Abram

Does Mt. Abram own the east face of the mountain, down to the southern peak sometimes called Tibbett's Mountain? If so, is there any chance we'll ever see it developed? Why do the lights stay on overnight? I've seen them stay on till sunrise. I wish you all much luck and look forward to the...

AZ Challenge 2011: Darcy Morse of Sunday River

Hi Darcy-- As you may have noticed above, everybody calls it the "Tempest lift." Wouldn't it be a great idea to change the official name to match? Thanks!

    PA resorts

Sno is northeast PA. Denton is north central and despite all the online ragging, the steeps there are legit. I can't think of a significant area in PA that doesn't have enough pitch to fully enjoy this storm (maybe Shawnee?), but Blue Knob is probably the best place to be... ________ Bondage...
