How about something like posting up groups or gatherings, kind of like whats done in the mtb scene. All my skiing buddies could care less about climbing to get the goods. When I feel the complete opposite, just love natural terrain and the quiet of the backcountry.

Yes, that is a good deal. I never really had a problem with the weight on the alpine trekkers set-up, it's not a bad way to for keeping it cheap. When you get hooked then you spend the money for a real set-up. Either way earning your turns = total bliss.

Yes, thats what Stowe customer service told me. But, she also said the lift attendents will not let you on the gondola with ski gear.

I called Stowe, and you are partially correct. If you are staying at the stone hut they do sell a single ride ticket. Have not heard back from VT state parks yet for more info on that. Other info, there is some sort of race this weekend where they will be selling single ride tickets for pratice...
