    Backcountry Ski Conditions Resources

How about something like posting up groups or gatherings, kind of like whats done in the mtb scene. All my skiing buddies could care less about climbing to get the goods. When I feel the complete opposite, just love natural terrain and the quiet of the backcountry.

    Park City?

Flight arrives late Thur, that's if we get out without delay. If there is time we are planning on skiing the night we arrive. Just no skiing plans yet for Fri, we kinda just wanted to take it easy for a day. I have backcountry experience, all in NE though so not comfortable venturing into avy...

Hi all, heading to Park City later this week for skiing Sat, Sun and Mon with the girlfriend who is an intermediate. Looking to spend 4-6 hours on Friday out for a little skinning up and skiing down. Anybody have any advice on easy slope(no avy danger) to climb and ski a couple times close by...

    Another Utah Question, Sorry!

Yeh, altitude is definatly my fear. I felt it my first day a Keystone last year, 2nd day was much improved! The guys I'm going with want to do it on our first day, they had no problem with altitude last year. These guys are both professional trainer's so conditioning is not an issue. I have all...

    Another Utah Question, Sorry!

Anybody ever do a guided backcountry day with Alaska Guides at Alta. Thinking of doing it for guaranteed freshies and cutting lift lines. I want to make the most of my trip. I'll be there last week in feb.

    Stowe, single ride lift ticket?

Yes, that is a good deal. I never really had a problem with the weight on the alpine trekkers set-up, it's not a bad way to for keeping it cheap. When you get hooked then you spend the money for a real set-up. Either way earning your turns = total bliss.

    Stowe, single ride lift ticket?

You can get into it reasonably cheap. Look on ebay for BCA Alpine Trekkers. I have seen them on there for as little as $50, then you need to invest in climbing skins, doubtfull you can find a cheap deal on those. Anyway thats how I started. Now I have a set of '05 pocket rockets with Naxo NX 21...

    Stowe, single ride lift ticket?

Yeah, I think I am going to try the Monroe Trail on Camel's Hump saturday and then do Smuggler's Notch on Sunday. I just have never skied at Stowe and don't want to pay $70 bucks looking for secret stashes. My buddy used to live over by Smuggs so he showed me alot of locals spots. I am not a...

    Stowe, single ride lift ticket?

That's what I figured at a place like Stowe. I was originally inquiring about the single ride ticket in order to access the backcountry. I will just have to skin up.

    Stowe, single ride lift ticket?

Exactly. Like I said before the example of the two "people" who clearcut that trail on Big Jay. Now it's closed to all of us who follow the rules!

    Stowe, single ride lift ticket?

Well, I guess that single gondola ride must be for sightseeing?Maybe there is something special about lodge up top worth going up for lunch/dinner without skiing?

    Stowe, single ride lift ticket?

Yes, thats what Stowe customer service told me. But, she also said the lift attendents will not let you on the gondola with ski gear.

    Stowe, single ride lift ticket?

I called Stowe, and you are partially correct. If you are staying at the stone hut they do sell a single ride ticket. Have not heard back from VT state parks yet for more info on that. Other info, there is some sort of race this weekend where they will be selling single ride tickets for pratice...
